3. Data collection on our website

Cookies
Some of our webpages use cookies. Cookies do not harm your computer and do not contain any viruses. Cookies help make our website more user-friendly, efficient, and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser.
Most of the cookies we use are "session cookies". They are automatically deleted after your visit. Other cookies remain in your device's memory until you delete them. These cookies allow us to recognize your browser when you next visit the site.
You can configure your browser to inform you about the use of cookies so that you can decide on a case-by-case basis whether to accept or reject a cookie. Alternatively, your browser can be configured to automatically accept cookies under certain conditions or to always reject them, or to automatically delete cookies when closing your browser. Disabling cookies may limit the functionality of this website.
Cookies which are necessary to allow electronic communications or to provide certain functions you wish to use (such as the shopping cart) are saved on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing cookies for the correct technical and optimized delivery of its services. If other cookies (such as those used to analyze your surfing behavior) are also stored, they will be treated separately in this Privacy Policy.

Server log files
The website provider automatically collects and stores information in "server log files", which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:
  • Browser type and browser version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request
  • IP address
This data will not be combined with data from other sources.
This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free display and optimization of its website; for this purpose, the server log files must be recorded.

Contact form
If you use our contact form to send us an inquiry, we will store the details you enter on the form, including your contact details, in order to address your inquiry and to ask any follow-up questions that may arise. We do not share this information without your permission.
We will therefore process any data you enter onto the contact form only with your consent per Art. 6 para. 1 letter a DGSVO. You may revoke your consent at any time. An informal email making this request is sufficient. The data processed before we receive your request may still be legally processed.
We will retain the data you provide on the contact form until such time as you request its deletion, revoke your consent for its storage, or the purpose for its storage no longer applies (e.g. after fulfilling your request). Any mandatory statutory provisions, especially those regarding mandatory data retention periods, remain unaffected by this provision.

Inquiry by email, phone or fax
If you contact us by email, phone or fax, your request, including all ensuing personal data (name, nature of inquiry), is stored and processed by us for the purposes of processing your request. In this case, your data will not be passed on to third parties without express consent.
This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR, if your request relates to the execution of a contract or is required to carry out pre-contractual activities. In all other cases, the processing is based on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) and/or our legitimate interests (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) as we have a legitimate interest in the effective handling of the requests addressed to us.
We will retain the data you provide on the contact form until its deletion is requested, your consent for storage is revoked, or the purpose for its storage is no longer applicable (e.g. after the handling of your enquiry has been completed). Any mandatory statutory provisions, especially those regarding statutory data retention periods, remain unaffected by this provision.

Processing of data (customer and contract data)
We collect, process, and use personal data only insofar as it is necessary to establish, formulate, or modify legal relationships with us (master data). This is done on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR, which allows the processing of data to fulfill a contract or for measures preliminary to a contract. We collect, process and use your personal data when accessing our website (usage data) only to the extent required to enable you to access our service or to bill you for the same.
The customer data collected will be deleted after completion of the order or termination of the business relationship within the scope of the legal requirements. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.
Data transmitted when entering into a contract for online shops, retailers, and mail order
We transmit personally identifiable data to third parties only to the extent required to fulfill the terms of your contract with us, for example, to companies entrusted to deliver goods to your location or banks entrusted to process your payments. Your data will not be transmitted for any other purpose unless you have given your express permission to do so. We reserve the right to pass on your data to third parties without express consent, for example for advertising purposes, within the legal scope.
The basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit b GDPR, which allows the processing of data to fulfil a contract or pre-contractual measures. The basis for the use of the data for advertising purposes by us or third parties is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

Data processing for advertising purposes
On the basis of Article 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR, the data controller has a legitimate interest in data processing for advertising purposes. On this legal basis, we also reserve the right to use first name, last name, street, postcode and city in order to use a personalized customer approach. The duration of the storage of personal data for advertising purposes is to be derived from the principle of whether the storage is necessary for advertising purposes. We pursue the principle of deleting data no later than two years after it has no longer been used for advertising purposes.

Own advertising purposes and advertising purposes of third parties
As far as you have concluded a contract with us or had advertising material sent to you, we will carry you as an existing customer or interested party. In these cases, we process your name and address in order to send you information about new products and services. Within the scope of our legitimate interests, we reserve the right to transmit your postal contact data to selected contract partners from the areas mail order, telecommunications and providers of similar products who we have selected with great care, so that they can also inform you about their products.

Advertising in line with your interests
To ensure that you only receive information that is of interest to you, we categorize and supplement your customer profile with further information. Both statistical information and information about you (e.g. basic data of your customer profile) are used for this purpose. The aim is to provide you with advertising that is solely oriented towards your actual or supposed needs and not to bother you with uninteresting advertising.

Processing of advertising mailings
The advertising mailings are processed on our behalf by a service provider to whom we pass on your data.

Right of objection
You can object to data processing for the aforementioned purposes at any time free of charge, separately for the respective communication channel and with effect for the future. For this, an email or a letter to the above contact details is sufficient.
If you file an objection, the contact address concerned will be blocked for further promotional data processing. We would like to point out that in exceptional cases, advertising material may still be sent temporarily after receipt of your objection. This is technically due to the necessary lead time for advertisements and does not mean that we will not implement your objection.

4. Social media

Social media buttons with links
No social-media plugins are used on this website (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, YouTube). These are only buttons that, when activated, link to the respective social media.
You can generally recognize the buttons by the respective social media logos. To ensure data protection on this website, we do not use plugins. Our application prevents data on our website from being transferred to the respective provider as soon as you first enter the page.
You will only be forwarded to the provider's server if you activate the respective button by clicking on it (consent). Which data is processed by social media is beyond our control. Detailed data protection guidelines can be found on the corresponding pages of the social media used.

5. Analysis tools and advertising

Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service. The provider is Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies". These are text files that are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website is usually transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.
The storage of Google Analytics cookies and the use of this analysis tool are based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analyzing user behavior in order to optimize both its website and its advertising.

IP Anonymization
We have activated the IP anonymization feature on this website. Your IP address will be truncated by Google within the European Union or and the European Economic Area prior to transmission to the United States. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity, and to provide other services regarding website activity and Internet usage for the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser within Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data.

Browser plug-in
You can prevent cookies from being stored by adjusting your browser software settings accordingly; however, please be aware that in this case you may not be able to fully utilize all the features of this website. You can also prevent data generated by cookies, about your use of the website (incl. your IP address), from being transferred to Google, and the processing of this data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.

Objecting to the collection of data
You can prevent the collection of your data by Google Analytics by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie will be set that prevents your data being collected on future visits to this site: Disable Google Analytics
For more information about how Google Analytics handles user data, see Google's Privacy Policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=en.

Commissioned processing
We have entered into a contract with Google for the outsourcing of our data processing and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.

Demographic data collection by Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics' "Demographics" function. This allows reports to be generated containing statements about the age, gender, and interests of site visitors. This data comes from interest-based advertising from Google and third-party visitor data. This collected data cannot be attributed to any specific individual person. You can disable this feature at any time by adjusting the ads settings in your Google account, or you can generally forbid the collection of your data by Google Analytics as described in the section "Objection to data collection."

Retention period
Data stored at Google at user and event level that are linked to cookies, user IDs or advertising IDs (e.g. DoubleClick cookies, Android advertising ID) will be anonymized after 14 months or deleted. For details, see the following link: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/7667196?hl=en

Google AdSense (not personalized)
This website uses Google AdSense, a service for including advertisements. The provider is Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
We use Google AdSense in "non-personalized" mode. In contrast to "personalized" mode, the advertisements are therefore not based on your previous user behavior and no user profile is created on you. Instead, “context information” is used when selecting advertising. The selected advertisements are then based, for example, on your location, the content of the website you are on or your current search terms. You can find out more about the differences between personalized and non-personalized targeting with Google AdSense at: https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/9007336.
Please note that cookies can also be saved when using Google AdSense in non-personalized mode. According to Google, these are used to combat fraud and abuse. The cookies will remain on your device until you delete them.
Google AdSense is used in non-personalized mode on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in analyzing user behavior to both optimize our website range as well as our advertising.
Google is certified under the “EU-US Privacy Shield”. The Privacy Shield is an agreement between the European Union and the USA, which is intended to ensure compliance with European data protection standards for data processing in the USA. Every company certified according to the Privacy Shield undertakes to comply with these data protection standards.
You can adjust your advertising settings independently in your user account. To do this, click on the following link and log in: https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated.
You can find more information about Google’s advertising technologies here:
https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads

Google Analytics Remarketing
Our websites use the features of Google Analytics Remarketing combined with the cross-device capabilities of Google AdWords and DoubleClick. The provider is Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
This function enables the target groups created with Google Analytics Remarketing to be linked with the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. This allows advertising to be displayed based on your personal interests, identified based on your previous usage and surfing behavior on one device (e.g. your mobile phone), on other devices (such as a tablet or computer).
If you have given consent, Google will link your web and app browsing history to your Google Account for that purpose. That way, any device that signs in to your Google Account can use the same personalized promotional messaging.
To support this feature, Google Analytics collects Google authenticated user IDs that are temporarily linked to our Google Analytics data to define and create cross-device ad targeting.
You may permanently object to cross-device remarketing/targeting by disabling personalized advertising in your Google Account by following this link: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/.
The aggregation of the data collected in your Google Account data is based solely on your consent, which you may give or withdraw from Google (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. For data collection operations not merged into your Google Account (for example, because you do not have a Google Account or have objected to the merge), the collection of data is based on Art. 6 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analyzing anonymous user behavior for promotional purposes.
Further information and data protection regulations can be found in Privacy Policy at: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads?hl=en.

Google AdWords and Google Conversion Tracking
This website uses Google AdWords. AdWords is an online advertising program by Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
As part of Google AdWords, we use so-called conversion tracking. When you click on an ad served by Google, a conversion tracking cookie is set. Cookies are small text files that your Internet browser stores on your computer. These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used for personal identification of the user. Should the user visit certain pages of the website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and the website can tell that the user clicked on the ad and proceeded to that page.
Each Google AdWords advertiser has a different cookie. Thus, cookies cannot be tracked using the website of an AdWords advertiser. The information obtained using the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics for the AdWords advertisers who have opted for conversion tracking. Customers are told the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a conversion tracking tag page. However, advertisers do not obtain any information that can be used to personally identify users. If you do not want to participate in tracking, you can opt-out of this by easily disabling the Google Conversion Tracking cookie by changing your browser settings. In doing so, you will not be included in the conversion tracking statistics.
The storage of "conversion cookies" and the use of this tracking tool are based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analyzing user behavior in order to optimize both its website and its advertising.
For more information about Google AdSense and Google conversion tracking, please see Google's Privacy Policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en

Facebook Pixel
Our website uses the visitor action pixel of Facebook, Facebook Inc, 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, U.S.A. ("Facebook") for conversion measurement.
These allow the behavior of site visitors to be tracked after they click on a Facebook ad to reach the provider's website. This allows an analysis of the effectiveness of Facebook advertisements for statistical and market research purposes and their future optimization.
The collected data is anonymous for us as the operator of this website; we cannot draw any conclusions about the identity of the users. However, the data is stored and processed by Facebook so that a connection to the respective user profile is possible and Facebook can use the data for its own advertising purposes in accordance with the guidelines for Facebook data use. This will allow Facebook to display ads both on Facebook and on third-party sites. We have no control over how this data is used.
The use of Facebook Pixels is based on Art. 6 1 lit. f GDPR. The website owner has a legitimate interest in effective promotional activities, including social media.
To learn more about protecting your privacy, please see Facebook's Privacy Policy https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/
You can also disable the remarketing feature "Custom Audiences" in the Ad Settings section of https://www.facebook.com/ads/preferences/?entry_product=ad_settings_screen. To do so, you will first need to log into Facebook.
If you do not have a Facebook account, you can disable Facebook usage-based advertising on the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance website: http://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices.

6. Plugins and tools

Google Web Fonts
For uniform representation of fonts, this page uses web fonts provided by Google. When you open a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache in order to display texts and fonts correctly.
When you call up a page of our website that contains a social plugin, your browser makes a direct connection with Google servers. Google is therefore aware that our web page was accessed via your IP address. The use of Google Web fonts is done in the interest of a uniform and appealing presentation of our website. This constitutes a justified interest pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.
If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font is used by your computer.
Further information about handling user data, can be found at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google's Privacy Policy at: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/

Google Maps (with consent)
This site uses the Google Maps map service via an API. The provider is Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
When you first visit our website, Google Maps is deactivated to ensure data protection on the site. A direct connection to Google's servers will only be established if you enable Google Maps independently (which constitutes your consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). This prevents your data from being transmitted to Google as soon as you first enter the website.
After being activated, Google Maps will store your IP address. This will subsequently be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The provider of this website has no influence on this data transfer once Google Maps has been activated.
Further information about the handling of user data can be found in Google's Privacy Policy: https://www.google.de/intl/en/policies/privacy.

Google reCAPTCHA
We use "Google reCAPTCHA" (hereinafter "reCAPTCHA") on our websites. The provider is Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
reCAPTCHA is used to check whether the data entered on our website (such as on a contact form) has been entered by a human or by an automated program. To do this, reCAPTCHA analyses the behavior of the website visitor based on various characteristics. This analysis starts automatically as soon as the visitor enters the website. For the analysis, reCAPTCHA evaluates various information (e.g. IP address, how long the visitor has been on the website, or mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis will be forwarded to Google.
The reCAPTCHA analyses take place completely in the background. Visitors are not advised that such an analysis is taking place.
Data is processed on the basis of Art. 6, para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its site from abusive automated crawling and spam.
For more information about Google reCAPTCHA and Google's Privacy Policy, please see the following links: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en and https://www.google.com/recaptcha/intro/android.html.

7. Recipients outside the EU

With the exception of the processing described in points 5 and 7 above, we will not pass on your data to recipients based outside the European Union or the European Economic Area. According to the providers, the aforementioned processing usually results in data being transmitted to the servers of the providers commissioned by us. According to the providers, these servers are usually located in the USA. Data is then transmitted in accordance with the principles of the so-called Privacy Shield and on the basis of so-called standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission.

8. Data security

All data transmitted by you personally, including your payment data, is transmitted using the generally accepted and secure standard SSL (Secure Socket Layer). SSL is a secure and proven standard, which is also used in online banking, for example. You can recognize a secure SSL connection by the attached s on the http (i.e. https://...) in the address bar of your browser or by the lock symbol at the bottom of your browser.
We use appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your stored personal data against manipulation, partial or complete loss, as well as against unauthorized access. Our security measures are continuously improved corresponding to the technological developments.

This version of the Privacy Policy is valid from 01.01.2020.
